| Today was our last day in our physical showroom in Surrey Hills. Thanks to all the fabulous customers who came and purchased many, many fabulous Genre Gallerie canvases at our special 50% off price. | The time has come to take all things Genre online, and close our Surrey Hills showroom. This is good news for Melbourne-based bargain hunters! On Saturday 19th June, and Saturday 26th June,2010 ALL Gallerie stock in the showroom will be sold at 50% retail price. Sale on from 10am until 4pm both these days. EVERYTHING must go! Some items have small marks from long-term display, but most are in perfect condition. Kids, Original and Resort Collections. | An exciting new gallery opens this week in the heart of Surrey Hills.
Genré Gallerie, in Union Road, right next to the post office, offers a unique range of professional original designs printed and stretched onto quality artist’s canvas.
Local Graphic Designer, Liz Grant, and her award-winning team creative tem at Designgrant have been quietly creating these beautiful designs for the current gallery collection. A dizzying array of botanicals, geometrics and delicate illustrations fill the Gallerie. The entire collection can be viewed online or instore.
All the Gallerie prints are designed locally and produced by an excellent Australian manufacturer, using quality hardwood frames, artist-quality American canvas, and fade-safe inks guaranteed for 75 years.
The inspiration for the Gallerie collection stemmed from Liz’s frustration at being unable to find well-designed, Australian-made, quality canvas prints for her home and studio. Most canvas framed products in stores are mass-produced and imported from China, framed with pine that can warp, use poor quality acrylic canvas, and have graphics designed to appeal to only mass market tastes.
People tend to invest a lot of time and money finding the right sofa and rug for their living rooms or reception areas, only to forget about the big white space above the sofa. Liz hopes to fill lots of those empty walls around Surrey Hills and Canterbury with her beautiful prints!
Customers can choose from 24 designs, each design coming in up to eight sizes, and a multitude of colour options. The Genré Gallerie designers can even tailor the colours of a design you like to match your own décor, or create a bespoke collection for your home.
The Gallerie is also offering an unique rental service – ideal for restaurants, furniture retailers, commercial developments, display homes and those preparing a property for auction.
Liz believes the beauty of stretched canvas prints are that they are lightweight to hang, don’t reflect light, and don’t come with a visible frame that may clash with your other furnishings. And her team of designers are enjoying the chance to use their creative talents beyond the usual corporate design work Designgrant is recognised for.
